A trap developed by PCI (BCRL) which is very efficient in trapping the Rice Yellow stem borer

There should be 3 inch water depth and a few drops of kerosene.

Chemicals used for communication between the organisms are known as semio-chemicals or info-chemicals. These chemicals are also called “ assembling scents” by Kettlewell (1946) from the Greek Pherein ( to carry) and hormone (to excite, stimulate) by Karlson and Butenandt (1959). Further Kirschenblatt (1957) proposed the term “telegones”. Micklem (1959) termed it as “pherormone” instead of pheromone. Karlson and Luscher (1959) have given a more scientific clarification for the use of the term pheromone.
